Port Talbot Works

Port Talbot plant is situated next to Port Talbot docks and has its own dedicated berthing facility.

With integrated ship loading equipment the plant is capable of producing and exporting high tonnages of GGBS to other parts of the UK and overseas.

It also supplies material into the South Wales market. It can produce up to half a million tonnes per year.

This new works is modelled on the technology used at Llanwern: a roller press used as a finished grinding plant. The lessons learned from the development work at Llanwern have all been incorporated into the design of this unit.

With a storage facility for finished product of 10,000 tonnes the plant can cope with loading large ships for the export market and for depots in the UK.
